A group of my friends were recently discussing ABC's new show, "In the Motherhood". I haven't actually watched it yet, because just seeing the previews completely turned me off.
I mean, is it really wrong to enjoy being a mom? Sure, my kids get on my nerves and stuff, my recent post proves that. But for the most part, I like it. I think my kids are a gift, and I feel lucky and honored to be the person to raise them. Does that mean I can't consider myself an empowered, enlightened, modern woman? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the ultimate empowerment is knowing that you can do something, like work outside the home, but at the same time, having the ability to choose NOT to.
Is being a stay at home mom, complete with baking cookies, and actually enjoying it all really that uncool these days?

I don't think it is uncool at all...I truly admire people that stay home with their kids and enjoy it.
It wasn't for me, but to each their own. While I didn't feel fulfilled, I do feel very blessed that I could financially stay at home while Jacey was little.
